UHURU Microfinance Consulting GmbH and Jamii Empowerment Initiative on behalf of the Mennonite Church Tanzania have set forth to implement the microfinance scheme which will serve as a formal organization in providing both financial and non-financial services to VICOBA groups and the surrounding community members. This APEX organisation will also foster creation of both societal and environmental value in the community, while maintaining its risk adjusted profitability level.

Intern in Digitalization of Rotating Savings and Credit Associations (ROSCAs) – (m/f)

Working area and location: Tanzania, Digitalization Team in the regions of Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Musoma

Key responsibilities:

  • Migration of existing pen-and-paper-processes of VICOBA group operations to a digital format using the IT platform
  • Training of the “super users” on the core microfinance solution at group level
  • Supporting VICOBA members to become familiar with – and in the use of – the new digital solution

What you should bring with:

  • University degree preferably in microfinance, cooperatives management, economics, finance or any other business related degree
  • First working experience in banking, finance, microfinance or cooperative society is an added advantage but not a must
  • Demonstrated knowledge on the ROSCAs/VICOBA operation is an added advantage
  • Fluency in Swahili is mandatory, excellent written and spoken English
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, cloud collaboration and Mobile Money workflows
  • Customer centric mindset, hands on mentality, as well as commitment and initiative
  • Team orientation and the ability to sense to do what needs to be done before it has to be done
